Train the Trainers Workshop: An Introduction to ArcGIS Online

About this Workshop:
Manitoba Education subscribes to ArcGIS Online, a digital mapping tool by Esri Canada. In this workshop, participants will be provided with what is needed to introduce teachers to the power of this tool in supporting student learning. Using this tool students can:
- Acquire the knowledge and skills to create and use digital maps.
- Apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to address inquiry questions.
- Create digital maps to demonstrate evidence of their learning
- As global citizens, connect with the world through the exploration and application of digital mapping both in the community and workplace. (For more information: maptolearn.ca)
Rod Epp and Pat Adams, consultants with MaptoLearn, will facilitate the Train the Trainers workshop providing hands-on opportunities to:
- Learn about GIS (global information systems) and mapping
- Create a digital map using the ArcGIS Online mapping tool
- Explore the variety of ArcGIS Online resources available to meet curricular outcomes
- Acquire the technical knowledge required to administer digital mapping within a school or division including how to create teacher and student accounts with ESRI.
